Some of our most loved films come from emerging artists. Therefore one of our major concerns is to help them to enhance their careers by opening doors to contacts and equip them with first-hand insights about creativity, craft and tricks how to jump the industry’s barriers.

This workshop is designed for directors who are taking the first steps into the real production-world. Wether you’re about to finish film school or just have started to work on projects for clients, the course will provide you with tools to take your game to the next level.

“I want to teach them very concrete things that I didn’t learn at film school but that are now my daily life as a director.”

The Workshop

The first installment of BFFF’s Classroom workshop-series will be a three-day workshop for directors held by award-winning filmmaker Cyprien Clement-Delmas. Based on personal experiences Cyprien will offer first-hand insights into his treatments, all processes involved in his films and how to win projects.

The course will include theoretical and practical exercises on how to pitch an idea, make better treatments, how to design a production, how to promote your work and get into a good production company.

1. Make your own way by knowing yourself: personality, passions, beliefs, and storytelling.
2. Pitchings and treatments: how to sell your ideas
3. Production companies & industry: how to sell yourself and make a living

4. Visualize your film… or not: different approach on making a film
5. How to approach a shoot: practising together what a Director should see and do on a set

6. Practising pitchings and teamwork
7. Practising filmmaking
