Q-TIPS, A HAMSTER, A FRENCH BULLDOG PUPPY AND OF COURSE... THE BFFF-AWARD WINNING GUINEA PIG!
If the BFFF-Award would be an animal, which one would that be?
I think it would be a pink cockatoo, because they're pretty and they make a lot of noise!
Regarding your casting decision, what was the most outstanding reaction/question/opinion you´ve received so far?
I really love how some people watch this film, watch Golden Boy and say: "Me. That's me in the morning. I am so this vain little guinea pig."
Did you have any hard times with “airs and graces” from your furry stars?
Well, I pay them in carrots and lettuce, so I try to keep my expectations as low as their fees. They are usually quite slow to pick up on my directing talents, but if I give them enough time to settle in, they do perform wonderfully.
Tell us a secret: Who or what is going to be the next star in one of your films?
I've just shot another guinea pig that had the exquisite name of Estée Lauder… And after this project I might actually want to film real life people again. Or birds. Or ponies. So many choices!
Perfect Preperation or the Magic of Improvisation?
Preparation. I want everything to be exactly as I see it in my head, exactly as I draw it in my storyboards. I freak out when I hear the word improvisation. Iew.
Is there a particular director who inspires you?
I have always loved the work of Lernert & Sander. They are so clever. And Spike Jonzes music videos make me shiver. Always!
Last but not least: What was your best moment at BFFF?
The best moment was winning my award! I loved it!
The outdoor setting was lovely and the crew was really friendly. I loved the talks. Learned so much.
Thank you Thalia!
