BFFF at Zalando Fashion House - Berlin Fashion Week Special with Not Just A Label

Two panel discussions and BFFF's 2015 Film screening.

Starting tomorrow, we'll be participating in NJAL's debut in Berlin with their multi-sensory exhibition hub launch.

The exhibition, which will take place during Berlin Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016 from July 6th – 10th, is being staged in the iconic department store, Warenhaus am Weinberg.

The hub will span fashion, art, design and new media and has been facilitated by innovative online retailer Zalando.

NJAL will curate a selection of designers, artists and creative practitioners as well as a selection of educational workshops, symposiums, exclusive previews and fashion film screenings around Berlin.

Below you will find the BFFF highlights. For the full programme simply visit Not Just A Label.

PANEL DISCUSSION:

FASHION IN VISUAL CULTURE

July 7 @ 13:00

ALEXANDRA BONDI DE ANTONI, Editor in Chief i-D Germany

ASTRID SOLOMON, Photographer/Director

NICCOLÒ MONTANARI, BFFF Co-Founder

As fashion film rises to become a dominant form of fashion communication, it inevitably begins to grapple with societal issues like gender, sexuality, beauty, age, and ethnic identity–much like design has for decades through loaded visual narratives.

NJAL’s Kam Dhillon chairs a select panel of image-makers and editors to discuss the challenges of addressing stereotypes in fashion film and ask what role fashion film plays within wider visual culture.

PANEL DISCUSSION:

FASHION IN VISUAL CULTURE

July 8 @ 13:00

ANITA KRIZANOVIC, Fashion Editor, Kaltblut Magazine

ANNA COTÉ, Senior Art Director. VCCP

JEREMY HOFMEISTER MAC LYNN, CD & Head Of Int., VCCP

NICCOLÒ MONTANARI, BFFF Co-Founder

NJAL talks to a diverse panel of industry impresarios for a broad conception of the fashion film in a contemporary and commercial context. The rise of fashion film has made it a vital node of communication within fashion, extending beyond designer and brand.

Today’s panellists will unpack the distinct relationships between fashion designers and filmmakers and question who ‘owns’ the fashion film and how roles within the industries are changing and evolving.
