BFFF Film Favorites from Aesthetica Short Film Festival - PART I

BFFF Co-Founder Frank Funke On Aesthetica  Short Film Festival

I had a great time last week at ASFF last week, meeting so many nice people and having the chance to see lots of interesting work and talks.

First I thought of writing up a little 'Best Of‘ on the films I’ve seen...but this wouldn’t be fair towards all the great work I wouldn’t be able to include - and I didn’t even have the chance to see them all!

So here’s just a small selection of the pieces which interested or touched me somehow.

STUTTER

One of the award winners was also one of my personal highlights was Stutterer by Benjamin Cleary, as I know the feeling of having the perfect words in my head which sometimes are unable to pass my lips.

WONDERS NEVER CEASE

In the Fashion Film Screening I was happy to see some work by our BFFF family. E.g. Crowns and Owls film for TED Baker

THE DRIVER

There were two Films for Rag and Bone. One of them directed by Michael Pitt starring himself and Stephen Graham. So if you’re in to Gangster Films, this is your choice.

REEBOK X VENTILATOR X ROMAIN LAURENT

Something I didn’t feel, due to an euphoric consumption of beer and white bread during my stay, was lightness. This film - Reebok Ventilator by Romain Laurent - explored this topic in a very well executed way.
